Located along Martin Luther King Jr. Way South, this three-unit development provides permanently affordable housing in one of Seattle’s most diverse and transit-connected neighborhoods. Developed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the project balances efficiency, durability, and livability within a compact urban site. Each unit is designed to maximize natural light, ventilation, and outdoor access while maintaining privacy and spatial clarity. The massing responds to the surrounding residential scale, with a shared material language unifying the three homes. Private entries and modest outdoor spaces support both individual autonomy and a sense of community. Two blocks from the Link Light Rail, the project reinforces equitable access to transit while offering long-term housing stability for working families. Materials are selected for their longevity and low maintenance, emphasizing construction logic and simplicity over ornament. The result is a modest, resilient addition to the evolving fabric of Columbia City.
